Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana

I've work for a seafood restaurant I never wait on tables i box the boiled seafood. I was getting paid $5.00/hr I'm 17 and still in school and I would like to know why are they paying me lower than minimum wage. What can I do in regards to these action they have done? I confronted my employer and the raised it to minimum wage after like a month working there. Started July 9, 2012- current 12-17-12. Can I push minimum wage law on them?

Yes. Contact the national labor relations board. They enforce minimum wage laws. You are owed back wages.
