Legal Question in Personal Injury in Louisiana

defamation suit?

I recently worked for a municipality for about 7 years. I left there and went to another municipality after receiving a great recomendation from my supervisor. Now that I am gone public attention has been brought to something that happened a over a year ago. My supervisor has been on a local radio station blaming me completely for this and even used my name. It was brought to his attention right after it happened last year, and while I did have some to do with the problem, I was not alone nor did he ever reprimand me for this. Is his now blaming me to sooth public opinion a violation of the law?
