Appeal of Jury Settlement
How much time does the defense have to file an appeal after the jury awards a settlement? And if no appeal has been file, what is the next step?

Notice of intent to file a suspensive appeal must be done within 30 days of the date "notice of judgment" is sent out. If after 30 days but before 60 days from notice, a dissolutive appeal may be filed. A suspensive appeal suspends the effect of the judgment. The dissolutive appeal does not and collection of the judgment may proceed during a dissolutive appeal.
