Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

Property in non married relationship

My 15 yr relationship ended 2 months after we bought a house. The loan is in his name but the house is in both of our names. I have paid all but 3 house notes over the last 13 months and I have been living in the house for a couple of months and have started spending money fixing it up. I have a restraining order on him. He has a bad drug habit and gets a bit out of control. I want to keep the house. How can I get him out of the property all together. He has told people I can have the house if I let him have the back 12 acres. This is not acceptable. Just how difficult is it going to be for me to keep my house? He has his own home on 25 acres and doesn't need this one. It all seems to be just a way to make me miserable. Please help.

Re: Property in non married relationship

Sounds like you need to buy him out of his half the house.
