Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

Buying property thats willed to someone else

I am renting a house from my grandmother. The house is willed to my uncle at her death. He doesnt want to live in the house when she dies. He says he would sell it to me. My question is can I buy the house out of her will from him before she dies. I would like to build a new house on the property and have my gram see me in it. I don't want her to die so i can buy the house.

Re: Buying property thats willed to someone else

You cannot buy the house from your uncle, since he does not own it. The only way your could buy the house now is from your grandmother.

After your grandmother dies you could buy it from your uncle (or from your grandmother's estate), but not before.
