How do you start proceedings to probate a will in Louisiana? It is my great grandfather will. His wife and children are all deceased, his grand daughter is alive but up in age and she told us that she does not want the property....can she sign a statement to that effect and we get it notarized here in Texas where we live will that be acceptable for the courts?

You file the will in court along with supporting documents.
Granddaughter can sign documents in TX renouncing her inheritance.
