Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

Wording in a will

I have--name removed--mother's will and have a question on the wording. --name removed--brother and I are both named in the will with--name removed--brother getting her house and I getting everything else. --name removed--question is the wording before listing who gets what. It says, ''After all debts of--name removed--estate have been paid, I leave and bequeath--name removed--estate as follow:'' What exactly does that mean? More importantly does that mean the house (which still has a mortgage) would have to be paid off? --name removed--brother is on the mortgage also. Or is it regarding debts that would be involved in the succession procedure? --name removed--mother wants to know because she is confused on the wording. Thanks!

Re: Wording in a will

The house note is one of her debts. The house should be paid off in my opinion.
