Legal Question in Workers Comp in Louisiana

Workers Compensation Claim
I have been receiving workmans com. for 8 or 9 months and have not been release from Physician. My injury occured at work to my back which the doctors determined that I probably had a prblem with my back prior to work however was aggrevated by the work itself. Now the workmans comp want to cut me off as they say I can return to light duty which there is none at place of employment or otherwise they wish to pay me off for $20,000. Should I accept this payment or seek an attorney, as
I will be cut off of medical care as well. The problems are multiple disk which may require surgery in the future.
