owe on a hospital bill. it has been put in the hands of a lawyer. can they take my home and property? owe the hospital $2, 500 have been sent a summonds to appear in court. trying to contact the lawyer to make payments

In rare instances, creditors can get orders to sell property, but you are entitled to exempt $47,500 of equirt in the property. More than likely, they will just lien the property and collect upon sale.
