Legal Question in Family Law in Maine

My boyfriend had a child with soeone who was supposed to be getting divorvced while they were dating, she never did get divorced, in fact once she was pregnant she stopped coming around all together. He had a dna test done and was proven to be the father, he pays 100.00 a week in child support an has her every weekend. She has his last name. However his name is not on the birth certificate, she will not let him take her on vacation and he never can claim her on his taxes, what i want to know is can he get his name on birth certificate? Is he entitled to a vacation with her? and can they alternate whom claims her each year? They live in maine and I am unfamiliar with the laws as I live in New Jersey

An attorney would have to assess all the facts of the case to give you a reasoned opinion. One would certainly need to know the incomes of the parties and what percentage of the child's support the father provides. Depending upon the age of the child, he also should be able to take the child on vacation.
