Legal Question in Family Law in Maine

In my divorce I am to received half of my ex husbands retirement accounts. I need to file a QDRO. I do not have legal representation as I can not afford it. Everything is settled with regards to custody, property, etc. and all that paperwork has been done. What do I need to do in order to obtain the portion of the funds I am entitled to? What paperwork is necessary?

You need to draft and file a QDRO. This can be a document with very technical wording that needs to be cleared by the company controlling your ex-husband's retirement. Once the company approves the order, you then submit it to the court.

This is a good example of a technical document that may need to be drafted by a lawyer.
