Legal Question in Family Law in Maine

Property

I have been married for 8 years. The deed for our home is in husband's name only. I do contribute at least 1/2 of all expenses and we purchased while we were married. During divorce would I be entitled to any of the property if the deed is in husbands name only?

Re: Property

Maine's Statute that defines marital property focuses on whether the property was acquired during the marriage, not whose name it was put in. Therefore, the residence, if acquired during the marriage, is marital property. There are other factors that may come to bear as to what rights the parties have in its value- i.e. 50-50; 33-66, etc depending upon who contributed the downpayment.
