Legal Question in Family Law in Maine

I currently reside in the state of Maine with my current wife and 2 year old son. I was previously married and divorced in Massachusetts and have an 18 year old son who lives with his mother and her husband in Massachusetts. I have paid child support since our divorce and my son is now a senior in High school and will be finishing school in May when he will be 19 years old. My son is planning to go to college and my ex-wife is asking me for money for him to go. I already told her that I would be willing to continue paying what I have been giving her since our divorce which is about 300 per month, but due to the high cost of the school he wants to attend she is asking me for about double that amount. I have told her that I do not have additional money to contribute as I have a home, family and extraordinary debt load. She is now threatening to take me to court to get the additional money and I wanted to know if I could be ordered to pay for this?

In Maine she could not. But this would likely be brought in Massachusetts, so you need advice from a Massachusetts lawyer.
