Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Maine

I didn't pay my landlord 3 months of rent when I was on break from school and when I returned to my apartment she had put signs on all the doors saying I could not enter the apartment building and she had taken anything she thought was worth money including 3 laptops, a desktop computer and monitor, mixing board and guitar... etc. I wanted to know if she reserves the right to do so because I had not paid rent and or if I should get a lawyer to get my stuff back.

The first question is if you were properly evicted, which could have happened without you knowing if you essentially abandoned the apartment and they had no way of reaching you. She would then need to attempt to notify you by mail of the abandoned property. If she received no response about the property, he would have needed to notify the State, and then could have sold it off. She would need to have records of the sale, and if it covered more then the 3 months rent and her expenses in moving and selling it, you would get the balance.
