Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Maine

Where do I start?

I just had surgery to remove a cyst and ovary, could not be done through the scope, so had to open me up...while they did the surgery, they cut my bowel. This went unnoticed for almost 48 hrs. I found it. I had to have surgery to repair the damage, then pneumonia set in. I was in ICU for 3 or 4 days. then in surgical ward. I have no insurance. Can I make them pay for the extra surgery and damages done, loss of more work due to longer recovery, lawyer fees, etc. where do I start?

It's possible that you have a claim, but it is very difficult to tell from your post alone. We often have to review the medical records to tell whether a mistake was made and then we have to review the extent of your damages.
