Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maine

Hi my name is Tim Tourville, and I had a hit/run accident back in january. I have a court date on April 5th at 10:00am. I was wondering how much a lawyer would cost for me to help me out. I found out that the guy Dennis Hanson who smashed into me has a laywer name Scott F Hess, and he called me tonight asking me questions about the accident and i was wondering was he supposed to do that?

Hi Tim, It sounds like you are the victim in this hit and run. The district attorney's office prosecutes these cases, and they have a prosecutor assigned to your case, in addition to a victim/witness advocate who should be able to help you through the criminal prosecution. FYI, the defense attorney, Scott Hess, is doing his job. However, you have no obligation to speak to him unless he subpoenas you or required your attendance at a deposition.

If you got hurt, I could help you get compensation from Dennis Hanson and/or his insurance company. Please let me know if I can help you in that regard. Thank you for your inquiry. My phone number (toll free) is 1-888-775-6042.
