Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maine

A gravel pit which was owned by the town up until 3 years ago had a right of way on our land. Our neighbor has since bought the gravel pit and his property connects to the gravel pit. Can we abolish the right of way?

If the right of way was deeded by the Town to the purchaser, then it cannot be abolished by you unilaterally because its no longer needed by the current owner, a subsequent purchaser may still need it. You can get it released with the consent of your neighbor.
