Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maine

I have a piece of land in York, ME where the title was amended after the land was deeded over. The amended section of the contract states that there is now a well restriction on the property (even though no such restriction existed prior to the purchase). In hearsay, the reason for the restriction was to punish the seller. This of course now has the opposite reaction. What course of action can I take to rescind the amendment?

Do you have title insurance? Contacting the title insurance company would be the first option. Otherwise you should have an attorney review all the documentation to determine your options. Without more specific information it is difficult to advise how you can address this.
