Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Maine

being sexually harassed at work

For the past 6 months I have been sexually harassed and stalked by 2 men that I work with. I spoke with my manager and now one of them doesn't bother me but one still is. The store I work at doesn't seem like they're doing anything about it. What should I do? I am only 18 years old and am a college student and don't have much money for a lawyer/attorney or to try and take action if there's going to be a negative outcome. My parents suggest that I get a lawyer and sue the store that I work at because they have done next to nothing because I'm not the only women they have done this to, and they still have not done anything except speak to them and give them a 'slap on the wrist.' What should I do? Is there a proper plan of action I should follow?

Re: being sexually harassed at work

You should at least consult with an attorney. The attorney will need a copy of the anti-harassment policy of your employer and whatever documentation you have of the incident. The attorney then should be able to guide you through what you need to do prefatory to a lawsuit.
