Re: death of twins

I am very sorry to read about your loss. Your situation raises a number of possible issues, that may, or may not, lead to a possible case against the OB and the hospital which employed the nurse. As is in all medical negligence cases, the medical records would have to be thoroughly reviewed not just by competent attorneys, but also by medical experts to determine whether there was a violation of the standard of care, for both the OB and the nurses. If it is determined that the standard of care was violated, then there would need to be an analysis to determine if that violation caused the death of your twins. So, based on your email inquiry it is difficult to give a complete answer. But, with a full analysis, you can get a well-informed opinion. I hope this is helpful to you.

Re: death of twins

If the nurse knew about all of the medications you were taking, and gave you a new medication that caused a drug interaction which resulted in premature labor, then you may have a case against the hospital (based on nursing and/or pharmacy negligence). If the obstetrician prescribed the new medication, you may have a case against the doctor as well. As to the infection caused by retained placenta, that is a more complicated issue, and I would need to know more facts in order to say whether there was any negligence involved. Feel free to call me if you would like to discuss this further.

I would be important to review the meds you were on and the one that you were given. This is certainly something that should be looked into.
