In the state of Maryland, is there a time limit in which you can bill a customer? Especially if the error is the mistake of the person doing the billing.

No, no such time limit. If a customer fails to pay, the merchant would have to file a legal action within the statute of limitations period, which is generally 3 years.

The general period would be 3 years; however, there are several circumstances where error is involved which could extend that period. Even if you are well outside of the 3 year period, there are other reasons why you should not delay and these are predominately focused upon your ability to enforce collection.
