Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Maryland

Defamation/slander

I work a second job at an assisted living facility and a I was witness to a former co worker abusing a client. This former employee has proceeded to email and mail a very horrible letter about me which is very malicious. Then she is also attacking my sexuality, I am gay. The things she says in this letter has caused me much stress and has definetly harmed me at my place of employment. Is there anything I can do legally? I do have a copy of the email if anyone wants to see it.

Thank you,

Rhonda

Re: Defamation/slander

You should consider talking to an attorney. As a part of your defamation/slander/tortious interference with contract claim, you need to show damages. It is unclear from the information you provided that there were special or consequential damages.
