Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Maryland

trespassing/vandalism

My neighbors pitbull and shephard have been digging holes under my fence. I have 3 little dogs that will end up running away or killed by there dogs. I had to fill in 3 large holes that if my dogs would have spotted them the damage would have already been done. I have asked very nicely for them to shorten there leash so the dog cannot dig at the fence. My fence is 1 foot in from my property line. 1 foot on there side is my property. This is a trailer court situation. I have asked the lot owner to come down to fix this problem also. He came down and let all the talking to me. He is claiming to me that he will evict them but until then I have to worry that my dogs are going to get killed while i am at work. What can i do?

Re: trespassing/vandalism

If the neighbor's dogs are on leashes, try restraining your dogs so that their range and that of the other dogs won't overlap. You can accomplish this by keeping them inside when you're not around and/or by tying them up on the other side of your property.

I agree that you should not have to do this and that resolving this problem is your neighbor's responsibility, but if he isn't going to cooperate and your dogs' lives are at stake you should do what you can to protect them.
