Legal Question in Construction Law in Maryland

Business contract question: I have a job that I did a proposal for in 6-08, signed a contract for in 8-08, had a job site schedule issued with a start date for my work to begin in 5-09 funding was delayed. Now there asking for price reductions. My job pricing is almost 2 years old and I really need a price increase. Can I get out of this contract. Thank you in advance for your advice

Hi and thanks for your post. An attorney cannot reasonably answer your question without looking at the contract itself. Different contracts will contain different remedies and specify different terms of performance. In some cases you might be able to walk away if the other party delays (or doesn't do what they promised to do in a timely fashion), but not always. You may want to retain an attorney to look over the contract at issue and advise on your possible remedies.
