Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

I loaned a friend $1000.00 and he have defaulted on the terms of our agreement. I have given him extra time to pay, and he have paid nothing and will not respond to my messages. If I take him to court can I sue for my lost wages in addition to the amount of the loan? I am self-employed and I will lose a day's pay to go to court, so I feel that I should be reimbursed.

The short answer is No.

Damages in a civil case do NOT include time the plaintiff takes off work to deal with the court case (for hearings, depositions, etc.)
