Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

Being Sued

I just found out by searching the public records files from Maryland (casesearch.courts.state.md.us/inquiry) that I am being sued. However, I didn't get served or notification because I moved. So, will I have a judgment rendered against me since ''technically'' I don't know about it? I found out by being curious.

Re: Being Sued

You should not have a judgment against you if you were not served, but keep an eye on the docket to make sure there is no indication that anyone thinks service was successful. Eventually, if they keep at it, they will get you served, so depending on the circumstances it may make sense to address the underlying issue sooner rather than later.
