Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

well my boy friend has been charged 4 sec degree assault and he wasnt even invovled. He recieved a bail and has to go to trial what do you think the out come will be. The person that was fighting got out on his own recon and has a different court date from his what does this mean??
