Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

Court Process

To whom it may concern,

I was recently charged with General Prositution in the state of Maryland. Which is a misdemenor. I have never been in trouble with the law before and this is my first offense. The penalty of this offense is up too $500 in fines and up to 1year in jail. I want to know with information that I've provided what would be the best possible outcome for me in my situation.

Re: Court Process

There are several things that can happen - but you need a lawyer to talk about your facts to determine what is the best route for you. These are some of the outcomes:

1. You can go to trial, and be acquitted (my personal favorite)

2. You can plead guilty and be sentenced to probation.

3. You can plead guilty and be sentenced to some time in jail.

4. You can be put on probation before judgement, which pretty much means, you're on probation and if you don't get in trouble in a year, the case will be dismissed. (most likely).

Good luck.
