i lied to an officer during an investigation for other people how bad could the charges be?

At least False statement to an Officer 6 months jail/$500 fine maximum. Plus a criminal record for the rest of your life. Alternatively, hire an attorney to explore defenses.

If the other people committed a felony, then you could be charged with accessory after the fact. That is also a felony and carries five years in prison.
