Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

security clearance

I have been accused of second degree assault twice by my spouse and i am up for my first hearing. The military requires that you maintain your security clearance. If I accept a probation before judgement deal (i.e.) anger management course and/or one year probation, how will that affect my clearance? Will this be the end of my military career? Should i accept the deal? Does an alleged charge with no conviction causes you lose your clearance?

Re: security clearance

It may or may not affect the clearance, but I wouldn't accept a Probation Before Judgment without consulting with a good lawyer. If these are your first two offenses, you might be able to get one of them dismissed and you may win the other trial.
