Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Maryland

court ordered visitation

I have a 8 year old daughter and I have no legal visitationset up with any court. I do pay child support and always have with-out interruption. My daughter resides in Maryland, I reside in Tennessee I am only able to see her occasionally at my expense. My daughters mother who I have never been married to, Just told her this year that I am her father she is remarried. I have seen my daughter at about twice a year in the past. I am married 6 years and have two other children. I have a clean history and have always supported my daughter and stayed in as much contact as allowed . Where do I begin legal proceedings? Which State?

Re: court ordered visitation

The state of the child's residence has jurisdiction to determine paternity, custody, and visitation. Contact a family law lawyer in that state for information concerning your rights and what legal action must be taken to establish them formally.

Re: court ordered visitation

If there is any order in a court for the child then the action generally stays in that state. If you are seeking action then the state of the child's residence is your venue.
