Re: offering medical assistance

Please be advised that the following answer does NOT constitute legal advice. You should have an actual consultation with an attorney to review pertinent documentation, discuss all the facts, and help you understand your legal rights, obligations, and options.

In general, if an injury occurs during an activity over which you have a proprietary interest or some form of control, you could well be civilly liable under a theory of negligence or perhaps some other legal theory. Depending upon the particular circumstances, both your "S" corporation and you, personally, may be subject to legal liability.

Whether you will or will not be found civilly liable in an actual legal case will depend upon the specific facts and circumstances involved. Failing to be properly prepared for possible injuries may or may not constitute negligence. Your obligations may or may not include having trained medical personnel available on-site.

One thing you haven't mentioned is liability insurance. In addition to a consultation with an attorney, I strongly suggest you confer with a reputable liability insurance carrier to obtain sufficient liability insurance for your corporation and yourself, personally.
