assulted in Canada

My fiancie,who is Canidian, kicked and punched me while in a horrible state of mind,his father died. This occured in late May of this yr. I live in Maryland. Can I file charges?

You can, but since you waited this long chances are the state's attorney's office, which would prosecute the case, might decline to go forward. To start the process, you have to go to a commissioner at the local police station and swear out a complaint.

You have one year from the date of the incident to file charges for assault. You may also consider filing for a protective order in either District or Circuit court.
