If a child loses a parent will the surviving parent receive a monthly check for the child

If you want some assistance you will have to provide a lot more information. Was the now deceased parent receiving the check, and where was it coming from? If the surviving parent becomes the legal guardian of the child, his/her eligibility may depend on income qualification.
