Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Child Support Payment

My ex-husband is not paying the full child support amount that was court ordered. He's only paying half the amount and child support says that they are not going to do anything. He is employed full-time and it is a court ordered wage attachment. His employer claims they lost the copy of the court order that Child Support sent to them. Secondly, I want my case to be transferred from Howard County to Baltimore City because I have to go to Child Support in Howard County every quarter of each month and it takes a lot of gas money to go there being that I live in Towson, MD. I was told by child support that I have to send a petition to Howard County court requesting my case to be transferred to Baltimore City and/or County. I'm not sure what the steps are in obtaining and submitting a petition to get this done.

Thank you!

Re: Child Support Payment

As for the change of courts, you will have to file a petition for change of venue, citing your Balt. County residence. As for the wage attachment, the employer can't use "losing the order" as an excuse; send them a copy of the order and tell them you expect them to send you all the money due or you will take them to court.
