Re: child support

Under the interstate compact for child support, once your child has been a resident of a new state (different from the one is which an original child support order was entered) for 6 months, the new state can acquire jurisdiction, but the old state can also retain jurisdiction if neither party objects. The key is where the child lives, not one parent or the other.
