Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Distance parameters for joint physical custody

At this time my sons father has sole physical custody of him. At the time

we lived in two different states so joint physical custody wasnt an option

I am now moving and want to know how far can I live in order to get

joint physical custody. I have heard arrangements were we can alternate

weeks and we alternate weekends.

Re: Distance parameters for joint physical custody

That will be up to the court which has jurisdiction over the custody matter. However,

you should be mindful of the fact that whether or not the court awards you joint physical custody of your son will depend on other factors

other than merely how close you live to the boy's father.
