Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Establishing New Jurisdiction

I was just divorced in SC, Feb. 04,2005. My lawyer in SC told me I should look into establishing jurisdiction in Maryland, since this is where I live and have lived for the last 18 months, now that my divorce is final. How should I go about doing this, without having to spend a ton of money?

Re: Establishing New Jurisdiction

Take a certified copy of the order, along with a certified copy of the docket entries from SC to the Circuit Court of the county in which you reside. Request from the clerk to enroll your foreign order.

I would be happy to discuss this matter with you further. Please contact my office for a free consultation.
