Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

I have a family member that is in recovery from opiate drug dependence (treated by doctors for severe chronic pain) she volunteered to enter rehab for that in 2013. About a year after she completed rehab, she began drinking and that gradually got worse. Now she's an alcoholic and won't go to any treatment due to thinking she doesn't have a problem with it. She has 3 kids. (One adult, 2

minors.) As of now, she can't really afford rehab and is reluctant to go because of her past experience with Rehab. My question is, is

there anyway to petition the court for court

ordered rehab? She hasn't had any DUI's or any law related problems with the drinking but has gotten verbally and slightly physically abusive (never reported to police) What steps should be taken if the court ordered rehab is possible? Thank you!

If her abusive conduct has impacted her minor children, you should contact your county's social services department and seek an investigation. If they determine that the children are at risk, a court could grant temporary custody to another family member, or if that's not an option, could place them in foster care, while ordering the mother to be alcohol free and go back into rehab.
