Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

running from child support

recently, the NCP was served with papers for Contempt of child support. The NCP has given a false address for mail, which we were successful in tracking her down for service. She has since moved out of Maryland to WI to avoid coming to the hearing or paying the support. We were able to obtain her current address in WI. She is clearly in contempt, will the court prosecute her criminally for the avoidance of the court orders and refusal to provide updated addresses when it is ordered in the support order? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Re: running from child support

The MD court isn't likely to try and have her extradited for failure to pay child support. They will issue a warrant which can be served on her if she's caught here. If enough money is involved and you are willing to make the effort, you could transfer the case to WI and pursue her there.
