Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

inquisition hearing

Hello, I received a letter through standard mail at a previous address regarding an inquisition hearing. What is this? I will be three states away the week of the hearing. what happens if I do not go? To my knowledge I have not broken any law.

Thank you for your time!

Re: inquisition hearing

Contact the person who sent you the letter and find out what it's about. Are you sure it isn't a deposition? That would be a proceeding in a civil suit where you would be questioned under oath by the attorneys involved in the case, presumably because you have some knowledge of the facts of the case.
