Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

Last year sometime around September to November 2010, while living in an Apartment in Maryland, I requested for maintenance services to carried out in my apartment because there was a leak from my kitchen ceiling. However, when the Maintenance staff came, he came with a lady who was just walking through my apartment and even to the hallway like she was going to my bedroom.

I didn't say anything be it was normal for two people to show up sometimes when a complaint is made. However to my dismay two days later, I found out that the lady was not a member of staff of the apartment but was a girlfriend of the maintenance man. I felt violated and taken for granted for this action.

I made a written complaint to the apartment office but till I left there in December 2010, they never apologized. When I asked them what was to be done? They told me it would be tackled internally. Every day I think about this and strongly believe I have been trampled upon.

I want to know if I have a basis to seek legal redress for an invasion of my privacy.

I don't really understand what the problem is. The maintenance guy showed up with his girlfriend. So what? Did they look through your underwear drawer? How has the invasion of your privacy damaged you? To recover in court, you must prove damages? Have you been to a doctor?

Best of luck.****The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.********
