Legal Question in Immigration Law in Maryland

How does a foreigner from Turkey visit the USA?

I have friends who live in Turkey and want to visit the USA. They were told I need to "invite" them here...that I should fill out the paper. I have no idea where to begin. Please help me! I just had a baby and they are desperate to see him. Thanks.

Re: How does a foreigner from Turkey visit the USA?

To visit the U.S., your friends need to either show that they have a lot of money in the bank or that someone will be helping them survive while here. The U.S. consulate needs verification that the person will not be indigent while they are visiting and that they have a legitimate reason for visiting the US. So by all means, send your friends a letter inviting them to visit to see your new baby and referring to your past relationship with them. In the letter, indicate if you will be able to provide them with room and board. If an affidavit of support is needed, obtain this form from INS, fill it out, and send it with the supporting documents to your friends to submit to the consulate.
