Legal Question in Insurance Law in Maryland

New Car, No Insurance yet, Accident

I recently had boutght a new honda 07. Never had bought a new car he sales person asked if I had insurance already on the other car of course yes. THey said it would transfer over to the new. I left the lot driving my new car. Two months later I was involved in an accident. I hit the person from behind. They say one thing happened I say another happened. No reports were made or filed by police nor had anyone been injured. I called insurance they said I didnt have any on the new car. I thought I did, needless to say I was screwed. I paid 7000 to fix mine. Now I have recently been served court papers for damages of the other party for 15000. What do I do? Where should I start? What kind of lawyer do I need? I NEED HELP!!!!!!

Re: New Car, No Insurance yet, Accident

You need a lawyer familiar with trying cases in Maryland courts (we can handle this sort of case - if interested, email me). You need to act quickly in order to timely defend the case and obtain appropriate discovery, including possibly demanding a jury, depending on the circumstances.
