Legal Question in Insurance Law in Maryland

I recently let someone drive my vehicle. They ended up running off a narrow road, tire got caught on lip of road and went into a power line.

Long story short, the power line transformer nearly dropped on the car, and caught fire. 2 homeowners in the area requested my insurance information because they said "fire shot out of their power outlet" and their "fridge and computer was damaged".

My concern is my personal property coverage on my auto insurance is only 15K. I think these guys are con men. What if they exceed my 15K max I'm sure they can sue me, but why wouldn't their homeowner's insurance pay for the damage and my insurance company or I pay their deductible?

They have the option to go through their insurance company, but they also have the option to sue you. You can, of course, sue the driver for damages. Moreover, the homeowners can also sue the driver.
