Legal Question in Investment Law in Maryland

I am transferring my 401k to another company. I asked the present company , in which I am closing my account , to write me a check on 11/2 . I received it on 11/8 and the name of the company was wrong. I contacted them , they were so difficult and even cynical. I am told , I had to wait at least 8 more business days and contact them again so they can write me a check , starting from the beginning.I opened an IRA account and want this money for my spouse tuition fee. It took nearly one month now I am struggling with this company.
Can I do something to this people ?

Probably not. Be a little more patient. Waiting 8 days isn't a tragedy.
