Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland

My employer is not paying me on established pay dates. We are paid the 15th and 30th but I am not due to receive my Dec check until Dec. 31st and my pay stub says the 30th. What can I do? He always fails to pay on the scheduled due date plus my health insurance was to begin November 1st and I still don't have it.

Hello. I am a Maryland barred attorney and have handled wage matters where employers fail to timely pay. Basically the law requires payment at least twice a month.

Once your pay is at least two weeks past due, you can force the issue legally and recover additional damages. You have two options for enforcing wages - 1) you could file a complaint with the appropriate government office and let them investigate / pursue remedies or 2) you could file a civil suit and seek up to three times the withheld wages.
