Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland

My employment contracts is signed, but contains a clause that I have to pay back relocation expenses if I "leave within 6 moths of my start date". I didn't see any moths. Can I get out of the breech of contract for a misspelling?

No, but nice try.

If the contract is reasonably clear on its face one would be hard pressed to find a court willing to jettison the agreement of the parties over a missing letter (and unless this involves some type of pest removal company one is hard pressed to imagine confusion over whether "moths" or "months" were at issue).

Of course the above post offers general legal information and is not intended to replace specific legal advice.
