Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland

In the state of Maryland is it legal for an employer to allow you to work up to 80 hours per week without paying overtime? They said it is because I am 'seen' as management, but I have to clock in on a time clock.

The answer to your question depends on a lot of specific factors. Some positions are exempt from mandatory overtime but the employer's classification as "management" is not the only deciding factor. I strongly encourage you to consult with an attorney who can get more details on your situation and help determine whether or not you have a valid claim. You are welcome to contact my firm at 410-216-7000 ( I offer a no cost consultation of up to 10 minutes on employment matters) or call another local attorney of your choosing.

Note that this answer does not create an attorney/client relationship.
