I am sorry to hear of the current stress within your family. 18 is the age of majority in this state. While the law may impose some obligation to support a child while 18 and in high school (say if they turn 18 during their senior year), generally speaking if your child is an adult and out of school no legal obligation remains to support or house.

Outside of a legal analysis, your family may benefit from a respected counselor/therapist/pastor or other trusted person helping you set loving consequences and deal with the destructive behavior you describe. Parenting isn't always easy, is it?

The above general information isn't intended as specific legal advice and doesn't create any attorney/client relationship.
